Task 1: Synthesis of the 1D nanostructures; Expected results: 1D nanostructures as nanorods, nanowires, nanotubes; Optimization of the synthesis process; Duration: from month no. 1 to month no. 30.

Task 2: Structural and microstructural characterization of the 1D nanostructures; Expected results: Detailed chemical, structural and microstructural characterization of the 1D nanostructures; Establishment of the relations between processing, structure and morphology development of the fabricated nanostructures; Design of growth mechanisms models; Duration: from month no. 2 to month no. 33.

Task 3: Electrical and thermodynamic characterization of the nanostructures to inspire new applications; Expected results: Detailed electrical and thermodynamic characterization of the nanostructures; Establishment of the relations between processing, structure / microstructure and properties of the fabricated nanostructures; Determination of the properties - dimensionality dependence; Duration: from month no. 10 to month no. 33.

Task 4: Dissemination of the results; Expected results: Publication of ISI papers in journals with impact factor greater than 2; active participation in national and international conferences; Duration: from month no. 25 to month no. 36.
